Hong Kong style shrimp wontons

These huge shrimp wontons are just as good as the ones you will get from those dim sum places. You can simply boil them and serve with Chinese red vinegar, or make a bowl of hot wonton noodles.

Ingredients(makes around 12):

  • 150g Minced pork
  • 15 pcs White shirmps
  • Wonton wrappers
  • soy sauce, salt, pepper, fish sauce to taste
  • sesame oil 1tsb
  • 1 tsb Chinese cooking wine
  • 1 tsb cornstarch
  • black sesame seeds

Instructions:

  1. Peel the shirmps and mince half of them. Chop the other half into pieces
  2. Combine minced pork, chopped shrimps and minced shrimps in a bowl. Add cooking wine, salt, soysauce, pepper, sesame oil, cornstarch and sesame seeds
  3. Mix well (until you can feel the resistence increases), add a few drops of fish sauce to add flavor
  4. Place the filling in the middle of the wonton wrapper
  5. Moisten the edges of wonton wrapper and fold it (Put the wontons in the freezer if you can’t finish them all at once)
  6. To make a wonton soup, simply boil the wontons in any kind of broth you like. I cooked the wonton soup with chopped mushrooms and a little bit of salt

Finally, sprinkle some chopepd scallions if you like

YUM.
